Our mission & goals

The Southern California Distillers Association (SCDA) is a regional advocacy group working on behalf of small craft Distilled Spirits Plants (DSPs) operating in the 10 southern counties of California. Advocacy on behalf of the members includes marketing the Southern California brands, promoting DSPs locally through the Southern California Distillery Trail and on the state level through member participation and engagement with the California Artisan Distillers Guild (CADG).

  • To develop the community of distillers in the ten(10) counties of Southern California.
  • Protect and promote the art and craft of small-batch and artisanal distilled spirits making.
  • Enhance consumer awareness of Southern California emerging spirit brands.
  • Work to grow and ensure the long term health of our industry in the south land.
  • Support state legislation that removes old outdated state laws that hinder craft, and do not conform the Federal laws.
  • Support legislation that allows craft distillers to operate public tasting rooms and sell distilled spirits directly to consumers, much in the same way that wine and beer can be tasted and purchased at any California winery or brewery.
