Senators Sign Letter Seeking Deferment of FET Payments

From Craft Spirits Magazine: Nearly two dozen U.S. Senators on Monday signed a letter asking Secretary of the Treasury Steven Mnuchin to defer all deadlines for collecting federal excise tax (FET) on domestic and imported beverage alcohol through Dec. 31. Previously, the Department of the Treasury delayed FET deadlines by 90 days in response to COVID-19 pandemic.

Hand Sanitizer Registration Reminder

From American Craft Spirts Association: Recently, ACSA leadership met with the FDA and the biggest takeaways were the importance of following current FDA guidelines and the necessity to register if you are producing hand sanitizer, packaging or labeling for distribution (either for sale or donation). You must also register with the FDA if you are manufacturing ethanol for use by others in making sanitizer.
